Individuals best served on this type of flight would be clients
with any of the following conditions: Alzheimer's, Dementia,
Medical/Surgical including Cosmetic, Hospice, Accident/Injury,
and other medical conditions not requiring highly skilled care.
The following list of services may be provided
on a commercial flight depending on client needs:
• Transfer assistance from wheelchair to airplane
• Oxygen assistance
• Dietary and feeding assistance
• Minor incision and wound care
• Foley catheter and Incontinent Care
Our number one goal is to transport clients
to a destination of choice, in the most comfortable and cost
efficient manner, with services provided by an RN, LPN, or PCA,
depending on the level of client care required. Until this time,
persons with medical disabilities including oxygen, gastric tubes,
IV's, incontinence, and needing total transfer assistance, have
needed to utilize private flights. We specialize in taking moderate
acuity clients on regular commercial flights to decrease cost.
A private flight from Arizona to Minnesota would cost approximately
$15,000 compared to $4,000 - $6,000 with our assisted medical
services on a commercial flight.
Our staff pays attention not only to transportation
needs, but also to the individual's needs, coordinating bedside-to-bedside
service. AirStar Arizona, Inc. will ask questions related
to spiritual belief, dietary need, literary preference and music
genre to customize the flight to the individual's taste. These
questions are not meant for discrimination or survey, but to
improve emotional ease and comfort for the client while in route
from origination to destination.
Flights may be scheduled for a client's family
member, caregiver, or friend to travel as well. Please request
this when contacting by phone, as this price is not included in
the quote given for the client. Luggage on this type of service
is limited to a small carry on, to carry one change of clothing,
medical chart if needed, medication, incontinent wear, etc. A
purse or backpack may also be taken.
